Polaroid Miniportrait 403 Studio Express— instant film

The Polaroid Studio Express (1997-2002)
is, well, a passport camera. It has 4 lenses, that either capture 4 identical shots, or you can trigger them one by one in succession to get 4 different poses / shots.
Although not commonly found in smaller photography shops anymore, this used to be the workhorse for legally required portraits for passports, ID’s and other official renditions of mugs all over the world.
Today, it’s fun to play around with. Best used on a tripod in a studio environment or your living room (you need around 2 meters to set it up) as its depends on sonar to get focusing done. It comes with a built-in flash that can be directed straight at the subject, up at the ceiling, or in between. It is possible to shoot it with external strobes or in broad daylight for some creative shots.
