So you’ve decided to try shooting some film. You either picked up a rental here or you have purchased your own camera.
There’s a lot to talk about, that’s why we offer one on one courses (or small groups) you can choose from:
1 basic operation & film types (1 hour) €50*
- basic use of your camera (loading film, using lightmeter, unloading film, general tips)
- overview of different photographic films available
- basic use of a handheld lightmeter
2 basic development of black and white film at home (2 hours) €85*
- basic home development of black and white film, develop one of your films at home
- chemicals and equipment are provided to develop 2 rolls of 135 or 120 film, or 4 sheets of 4x5 B/W
- overview of different black and white films available
- general tips on black and white film
3 medium format photography initiation (4 hours) €170*
- shoot portraits or landscapes on a medium format from us, or your own
- shooting on Ilford HP5+, Portra 400 or Fuji Pro 400H, or your own film
- basic use of the camera (loading film, using lightmeter, unloading film, lenses, general tips)
- overview of different photographic films available
- basic use of a handheld lightmeter
large format photography initiation (4hours) €170*
- shoot portraits or landscapes on a large format(4x5 inch) from us, or your own
- shooting on Ilford HP5+ 25 sheets for 50 euro, or your own film
- basic use of the camera and casettes (loading film, unloading film, lenses, general tips)
- overview of different photographic films available
- basic use of a handheld lightmeter
basic scanning of film and preparing for editing (1 - 2 hours) €200*
- scan a roll of film on an epson flatbed scanner, learn how to use Silverfast software
- overview of different photographic films and their ability to be scanned
- developing a scanning workflow and output methods
- general tips to consider when scanning and shooting to scan
Apart from these general courses, we can also discuss things on a more customized level. Do you shoot portraits? We’ll look into that. Do you like street photography? We’ll walk with you for an hour or so. Do you photograph parties at clubs and want to use a point-and-shoot for that? We’ll come with you. Well, maybe not that, but we will give you some advice on which film to use and how you can do that.

Whatever it is you want to shoot, you can do it on film. It’s not more difficult then shooting digital, although there’s no chimping here.

You can choose to pay both the rental fee and the deposit using bank transfer. Or you can choose to pay the deposit using bank transfer, and paying for the rental fee using bancontact app on pickup.
At this time, we only these methods of payment, but we will have
a credit card option soon.
After you are done shooting, you just return the kit to the pickup point or our trusted lab partner. We offer (rush)processing, scanning or printing on demand.
You can select all these options from the catalog page, whilst choosing your camera kit, or after returning your kit.
Terms & conditions
We want to be as clear as possible about the way we work and what the rules are. Please take a minute to read through this.
Rentals
All rentals are for a period of either one week or two weeks. All cameras / kits are to be picked up in Antwerp or Brussels.
We do not ship cameras, nor do we accept shipped returns. You can only rent one kit at a time.
By renting something, you pay for two things: the rental time for the rented equipment and the deposit for the rental equipment you are renting.
Right now, all our equipment has deposits on them. If you have a special insurance as a professional photographer, you may contact us to forego the deposit if we get the right documentation.
Payment methods
Bancontact App / Bank Transfer
Select the kit you want to rent and select the “rent this kit” option. You will be prompted with a contact form.

We only accept bankcontact app on the day of the pickup (rental + full deposit) or banktransfer (you have to transfer us the money beforehand, otherwise we can’t have the kit ready for you. Cash is not accepted.
While the deposit is refunded upon return, late fees, repair fees, or camera replacement costs may also not be refunded, if applicable.
Deposits
Deposits are calculated on the replacement value for the product in question of the same quality in the same condition. We take good care of our equipment and most of it is in excellent condition, and we like to keep it that way. If a camera comes back abused, we will know it was you. We reserve the right to withold the deposit up to the repair costs or replacement of the camera or kit if needed.
Deposits are placed on every kit or camera, and vary from tens to thousands of euros. Deposits are listed as an own item and should be added to the cart individually for reach kit or camera. In the rental catalog, when viewing a camera or kit, select the “add deposit to cart” if you want to rent the camera using your credit card.
If you are a professional with insurance, contact us to find out if you are legible for a deposit-free rental.
Pickup / Returns
Cameras should be returned to where you picked it up or at our lab partner Laboriver, in Brussels. Inform us about where you will return your equipment.
Returns take place on the last day of your rental period. Period.
Per late day, a charge of €100 will be made and taken from your deposit.
